Buy your tickets for the Cowal Highland Gathering online, by telephone or by post.

The admission ticket gives you access to the stadium where all the events take place. For access to the Grandstand, Enclosure or East Stand seating areas, you’ll need to buy a seating ticket in addition. The prices vary for each day.

Not sure which day to come or which seating ticket to buy? We’ve outlined the highlights of each day below and suggested the best seating for each event.

Thursday
  • Scottish National Highland Dancing Championship (7-11 years and 14 and 15 years) on the East Stand.
  • Scottish National Highland Dancing Championship (12 and 13 years, 16-18 years) on the Main Platform. Grandstand seats give the best views.
  • Classic Car Display
  • 5k Cowal Run

Friday
  • Solo piping competitions on various platforms. Seat not necessary.
  • Scottish Highland Dancing Championship (14 and 15 AM) and heats of the World Highland Dancing Championship events 55 and 56 (PM) on the Main Platform. Grandstand seat gives best view.
  • Scottish Highland Dancing Championship (8, 9, 10, 11 AM 12 and 13 years PM) on East Platform.
  • Primary schools athletics and heavy athletics. Seat not necessary.

Saturday
  • Highland dancing competition for local dancers on the West Platform. Some free seating.
  • Highland dancing Argyll Championship (County) Highland Dancing on the Main Platform. World Championship final immediately after.
  • Pipe Band Championship Grade 1 on the East Stand. Saturday East Stand tickets may only be booked by calling (+44) 1369 703206. Other pipe bands competitions have free spectator arenas.
  • Heavy athletes compete for the Sutherland Trophy and wrestlers vie for the Scottish Wrestling Championship. No seating necessary.
  • Children’s Entertainment Tent included in the cost of your admission ticket, as is the Ceilidh Tent.
  • Salute to the Chieftan, when 3,000 pipers and drummers assemble and play en masse then march through the town. The evening culminates with a fireworks display at the Coal Pier.
