Top storyteller returns to weave his magic

One of Scotland’s most celebrated children’s entertainers has confirmed he will be returning to Cowal Highland Gathering this year.

Artie Trezise – who spent 30 years as one half of the famous Singing Kettle, Scotland’s biggest children’s act – will be back with his unique brand of interactive storytelling.

Last year, his ‘Artie’s Tartan Tales’ shows proved a huge hit with hundreds of children.

Instead of a kettle, Artie’s only prop is a tartan trunk filled with souvenirs and trinkets to weave into his traditional but interactive Scottish stories.

Cowal Highland Gathering chair Ronnie Cairns said the feedback on Artie’s shows last year, from both children and their parents, had been fantastic.

“We pride ourselves on being one of Scotland’s foremost family events, so we naturally want to ensure that we’ve got top entertainment for spectators of all ages,” he added.

“Artie is obviously a huge draw for our younger spectators, who really loved his shows last year. We’re delighted he’s coming back to weave his magic again.”

Entry to Artie’s shows will be free, provided the children have entry tickets to the stadium.

This year’s Cowal Highland Gathering – which takes place in association with charity partner Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) – runs from Thursday 28 to Saturday 30 August.
