Beat the rush for Family Ceilidh tickets

Tickets have just gone on sale for one of the most popular events of the Cowal Highland Gathering extravaganza.

People hoping to start their weekend with a bang at the celebrated Family Ceilidh on Friday, August 29 are being urged to buy their tickets now.

The event – held in Dunoon’s Queen’s Hall - has been a sell-out for the last two years.

Following last year’s success, the ceilidh will again feature top band Skipinnish, who are also headlining the ceilidh tent entertainment the following day.

Cowal Highland Gathering chair Ronnie Cairns said: “We’re delighted that fans of traditional Scottish music again have the chance to see a band of Skipinnish’s calibre twice in two days.

“I’ve no doubt the Family Ceilidh tickets will be snapped up, as the event is always one of the highlights of the weekend. It’s a fantastic way to get the whole family into the swing of Cowal Gathering.

“It’s been a sell out for the last couple of years, so I would advise people not to wait until the last minute to get their tickets as the chances are there won’t be any left!

“Buying tickets only takes a few minutes, whether it be through our booking line or our website.

“It promises to be a great night out for all the family, so guarantee your tickets now and prepare to have a ball.”

Tickets for the Family Ceilidh cost £10 for adults and £4 for children. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

This year’s Cowal Highland Gathering – which takes place in association with charity partner Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) – runs from Thursday 28 to Saturday 30 August.
