All traffic at the Hunter’s Quay terminal by 23:00 on Saturday 29th will be carried.

Outside these times the vessels will operate to the normal timetable with the exceptions of the 07:00 and 07:30 sailings from Hunter’s Quay and McInroy’s Point on Sunday 30th August, the first sailings will be 08:00 from Hunter’s Quay and 08:30 from McInroy’s Point.

Commenting on this announcement, Gordon Ross said: “Western Ferries’ involvement with the Cowal Games, is not just limited to providing these additional sailings, once again it has the privilege of sponsoring the closing fireworks display.

"The Company fully appreciates the importance of working in close partnership with the Cowal Games Committee due to the significance of this week to the local economy and the community as a whole. These festivities also provide a tremendous opportunity to showcase Dunoon and Cowal as a year round tourist destination.

"This year’s event signals the second year of the revitalised Cowal Games, and the Committee has been working non-stop to improve on their great successes of last year. The combination of the Pipe Band Competitions, the World Highland Dancing Championships as well as some new attractions, should provide a memorable experience for both locals and visitors.

"By providing the additional sailings, the sponsorship and the additional capacity, Western Ferries can demonstrate, along with all the other supporting businesses and organisations, our continuing commitment not only to this event but also to the local community.”
