Plans for 2020 event continue in the face of Coronavirus outbreak

The Board of Cowal Highland Gathering (CHG) fully supports the decision of the Scottish Government to cancel gatherings of more than 500 people from 16 March 2020 in response to the evolving COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak.

However, it’s business as usual for the CHG team who are currently working hard to stage the 126th Cowal Highland Gathering from 27 – 29 August 2020. They are looking forward to welcoming competitors from across the world who are due to arrive in Dunoon to compete in the World Highland Dancing Championships, Cowal Pipe Band Championship and Cowal International Heavy Athletics Championship.

The CHG team will continue to monitor and review the Scottish Government’s guidance for the duration of the suspension. While the world faces a challenging time, they are encouraging people to continue with their plans to visit the World’s Most Spectacular Highland Gathering.

Cowal Highland Gathering will give updates on the current restrictions as more information becomes available.
