Gig at the Gathering 2020

Friday 28th August 2020

Tickets for the 2020 Gig at the Gathering are not yet on sale. Please check back regularly for announcments about the 2020 performers and tickets.

The Gig at the Gathering, sponsored by Belhaven Brewery, is one of the most popular elements of the Cowal Highland Gathering.

It is a stand alone gig which takes place on the evening of Friday 28th August and is a must see for all lovers of Scottish music.

This year we are delighted to welcome local band The Placks. They are made up of experienced, professional musicians from the West coast of Scotland. These guys and girls have come together from the world of Folk music and Punk Rock and the result is a potent, unique sound blending catchy, melodic punk and Celtic inspire folk music.

Rhuvaal are also on the bill, following on from their success in the Ceilidh Tent at last year’s Cowal Gathering.
Rhuvaal’s fanbase continues to grow as a result of the many festivals they have played and they are looking forward to releasing their first EP in 2020

Headliners, Hò-rò, first played at Cowal in 2017. Since then they have gone from strength to strength and we are delighted to have them back.
With a line-up that features bagpipes, border pipes, accordion, fiddle, and whistles; musical instruments that are aligned with traditional Highland music combined with the sounds of guitar, keyboards, drums, and bodhran, Hò-rò can play diverse styles and produce a set that features rich musical textures.
This instrumental mix is complemented further by both the unbeatable poetry of Gaelic song and the vivid storytelling of the Scots song genre.

We hope you will join us for what is sure to be an incredible evening.
